Benefits of Membership
NJBankers is the primary public voice of the banking
industry in New
Jersey. We represent the industry’s
interests in the state Legislature, with our congressional delegation,
in courts and with regulatory agencies, the media and the general
public. If you are a banking institution doing business in New Jersey, you
need to be part of our collective voice.
NJBankers represents more than 120 banking
institutions either headquartered or with branch locations in New Jersey. The
benefits of membership include:
Representation in Trenton and Washington, DC - NJBankers has a long and very
successful track record in representing member interests at both the
state and federal levels. To help analyze the impact of proposed
laws and regulations, NJBankers has a committee structure that utilizes
the expertise of member institution personnel. We have three
registered Legislative
Agents on call for you. Additionally, an annual Banker's
Legislative Day is held to meet with key state legislators and
NJBankers members meet with representatives of the New Jersey congressional delegation in Washington and New
Jersey throughout the year to keep them informed of key
issues of interest to New
Jersey banks.
Educational Seminars - To keep member
employees up-to-date in a rapidly changing regulatory and economic
environment, NJBankers sponsors more than 40 educational seminars and
conferences and approximately 75 web-based seminars throughout the
year.
Committees – Member employees
are eligible to serve on NJBankers
committees to learn and share their expertise while benefiting from
many networking opportunities.
Group Employee Benefits - Large potential cost
savings are possible through participation in any of
NJBankers-sponsored/administered group insurance programs and the COBRA
administration program through our affiliate, Bankers Cooperative
Group. Group plans include a variety of medical plans; dental
plans; life insurance; voluntary accident insurance; travel accident
insurance; accidental death and dismemberment insurance; long-term
disability insurance; and vision care insurance.
Publications - To keep you and your staff
up-to-date on state, national and industry issues, NJBankers
publishes a weekly e-Bulletin and Applications Bulletin;
New Jersey Banker quarterly magazine; Membership Directory;
Legislative Update; New Jersey Regulatory Bulletin; and Annual
Salary Survey. These publications are
provided at no additional cost.
Community Reinvestment Act Compliance -
NJBankers assists members with CRA compliance by providing affordable
housing investment options through our wholly-owned subsidiary
corporation, TICIC, Inc.
TICIC reviews affordable housing projects, screens out those that do not
meet established lending criteria, helps to underwrite the loans,
circulates information on the loans to interested members, acts as
lender of record and services the loans.
Community Support – NJBankers members
are part of statewide efforts to assist in causes to help those less
fortunate and contribute to the vibrancy of the communities they serve.
Each year the NJBankers Public Relations & Marketing
Committee holds a Community
Service Award Program that also is shared with members of the
state Legislature. Members participate in the New Jersey Bankers
Education Foundation to provide scholarships to dependents of fallen
heroes of the post-9/11 conflicts in Afghanistan and Iraq.
And NJBankers sponsors events for financial literacy, food banks and
more.
Membership Dues are reasonably priced and
based on an institution’s New Jersey deposits. Click here
