New Jersey Governor Phil Murphy signed Assembly Bill A-4997 into law on April 29, 2019, dramatically expanding the state's regulation of residential mortgage servicers.

In his presentation,  New Jersey’s Residential Mortgage Foreclosure and Servicing Legislative Reform Package” Robert Jaworski will provide details concerning each of the nine bills Governor Murphy signed into law to reform the residential mortgage foreclosure and servicing process in New Jersey.  Attendees will understand the impetus behind the bills and some of the problems the bills may present to mortgage holders and servicers.

In her presentation, “The Supreme Court Special Committee on Residential Foreclosures: Findings and Outcomes” Alyson Jones will share insight into the creation of the Supreme Court Special Committee on Residential Foreclosures and the work of the committee.  Attendees will learn how those efforts translated into legislation as well as the changes to the Court Rules.
